Dear Ledgewood resident,
On 7/17, a staff member of the Ledgewood Pool was unknowingly exposed to somebody who later tested positive for COVID-19. Four days later, on 7/21, the staff member started exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 and was tested for the virus. We are currently waiting for the results. If the results are positive, we will begin the process of contact tracing and will reach out to households that were at the pool during the time of possible exposure.
After being exposed on the evening of 7/17, the staff member worked open to close on Saturday 7/18 and 4-8pm on Sunday 7/19, before exhibiting first symptoms on Tuesday, 7/21. All policies and procedures were followed and the staff member was not exhibiting any symptoms during their shifts. This is good news for residents and other staff members as the virus is most contagious following the onset of symptoms.
Again, we have not received the employee's test results, which could come back negative. But in the spirit of transparency, and out of an abundance of caution, we believe residents have a right to this information.
If you or a member of your household were at the pool on 7/18 during 12-8pm, or on 7/19 from 4-8pm, you may have come in contact with this staff member. The likelihood is very low that COVID-19 was spread over the weekend at the pool, but to be extra cautious, monitor yourself for symptoms of the virus. More information on symptoms can be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
The pool will remain closed until we have test results and implications can be determined.
All the best,
Lindsey Schneider and Holly Zadony
Ledgewood Pool Manager and Ledgewood Pool Trustee
